Time faded, and with it went the pain; Gabriella floated alone in darkness, accompanied only by the soft pulsing beat of rushing water. Gabriella stretched, and yawned; slowly she realized that she wasn’t dead – at least not yet. The pungent smell of pine needles teased her nose, and she took a deep, cleansing breath. Bright green light stabbed through darkness and she opened her eyes.
